Hope Begins Here for Orphaned, Injured, and Sick Wildlife

Hope begins the moment an injured, orphaned, or sick animal reaches our care. We treat each one, give it a safe place to recover, and help it return to the wild.

Who We Are

Roanoke Wildlife Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides rescue and rehabilitation for injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife across Southwest Virginia. We also offer education and guidance to help our community live safely alongside wild animals.

What We Do

Since 1988, we’ve cared for native wildlife, especially rabies vector species like raccoons, foxes, skunks, groundhogs, and bats. When someone finds an animal that may need help, we talk them through what to do, then evaluate, treat, and house the animal until it’s ready to return to the wild.

Why It Matters

Every native species plays a part in a healthy ecosystem. Each animal we return to the wild helps keep that balance in place, and teaching people how to share space with wildlife helps prevent the next injury.

How You Can Help

Our work runs on donations and volunteers. When you donate, volunteer, or share our mission, you help pay for the formula, medicine, and safe housing our patients need until they’re released.
